The Astros placed McCullers on the 15-day injured list Monday due to a right foot sprain, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.
McCullers (1-2) took the loss Tuesday, allowing four runs on four hits and four walks over five innings in a 4-2 loss against the White Sox. He struck out six.
Boasts an excellent fastball, plus a power slider, which combined make him an excellent strikeout artist at all levels. As the son of a former big-league pitcher, he owns very good pedigree for the position. Lacks ideal control, so he needs to throw more strikes in order to thrive in the big leagues (and also to maximize his arsenal). May wind up pitching in relief (like his father) due to an average third pitch (changeup).
Long Range Potential: Hard-throwing right-hander (when healthy).
