The San Diego Padres acquired pitcher Eddie Kunz from the New York Mets for first baseman Allan Dykstra.

Kunz is headed to the right organization to get his career on the right path. That's because the Pads are great at finding gems for their bullpen. He won't be a factor in San Diego for a while, but don't be surprised if he busts out at some point.
What does it give the New York Mets
The Mets basically gave up on Kunz' potential, but at least they've added a decent power bat in Dykstra. He may be in tough as a first baseman in the Mets organization, since Ike Davis appears to be the man for the future. That said, Dykstra could use a fresh start.
