MARLINS MOVE BRIDE TO MINNESOTA
The Minnesota Twins acquired infielder Jonah Bride from the Miami Marlins for cash.
What does it give the Minnesota Twins
The Twins offense has been struggling to start the 2025 season, so they will take a chance on Bride. A corner infielder or designated hitter, Bride too is having a rough start (4 for 40, 0 HR, 15 K), but he was a solid player for the Marlins down the stretch in 2024. Minnesota could give Bride some starts and see if he can heat up, but he will likely be a bench or platoon bat for now.
What does it give the Miami Marlins
Bride started the 2025 season ice cold, which bumped him down Miami's infield depth chart. They then designated him for assignment, picking up some cash in trade from Minnesota. It's a bit disappointing, considering Bride was one of their better hitters last year. But he did not have much history of MLB success.
Fantasy impact
Bride hit 11 home runs in 71 games with a .357 OBP in 2024, which gave him some value in deep leagues. He would need to turn it around in Minnesota, though, to generate any interest in fantasy leagues this season.
