BLEWETT MOVED AGAIN TO ATLANTA
The Atlanta Braves acquired pitcher Scott Blewett from the Baltimore Orioles for cash.
What does it give the Atlanta Braves
Blewett is an upgrade for Atlanta's bullpen depth. The right-hander has limited MLB experience but does have a career 1.93 ERA (in 37.1 IP). He has also impressed this season, allowing just 1 ER in 9 IP with 11 K. The Braves must like that potential, so Blewett will join their roster and Jose Suarez was designated for assignment in a corresponding move. Blewett can pitch multiple innings, so expect to see him used in long or middle relief.
What does it give the Baltimore Orioles
The Orioles had just claimed Blewett off waivers a few days earlier, and he actually made two scoreless relief appearances for them. Still, he ended up designated for assignment around other roster movements soon after. Blewett's decent early results got Baltimore cash in return from Atlanta.
Fantasy impact
Blewett is unlikely to see usage in high-leverage situations, so he will remain off the fantasy radar for now.
