DODGERS DEAL FOR BERROA
The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired outfielder Steward Berroa from the Toronto Blue Jays for cash.
What does it give the Los Angeles Dodgers
In Berroa, the Dodgers add a speedy depth outfielder with good on-base skills. The 25-year-old hasn't seen much MLB playing time yet (just 28 games), but in the minors, he has hit for average, shown good plate discipline and stolen many bases. It's difficult to see him getting many at-bats with LA, and he will be in the minors for now. Still, Berroa is an interesting depth pickup.
What does it give the Toronto Blue Jays
This is a disappointing conclusion for Toronto, who originally signed Berroa in 2016. But after his MLB debut last season, he was not a good fit on their roster in 2025. He had a slow start this season in the minors, too, so the Blue Jays were only able to get cash back from the Dodgers.
Fantasy impact
This trade won't have much of a fantasy impact. If Berroa earns a call up with the Dodgers, it will likely be only in a bench role as a pinch runner.
