STRATTON SENT TO ATLANTA
The Atlanta Braves acquired pitcher Hunter Stratton from the Pittsburgh Pirates for outfielder Titus Dumitru and cash.
What does it give the Atlanta Braves
In Stratton, the Braves pick up a depth right-handed reliever with some MLB experience. He managed a decent 3.58 ERA over 36 games last season, but has spent most of 2025 in the minors after getting hit hard in 3 appearances with the Pirates. Stratton might get a look in Atlanta's bullpen this year if he impresses at Triple-A.
What does it give the Pittsburgh Pirates
The Pirates will take a chance on Dumitru, a sixteenth-round draft pick by the Pirates in 2024. An outfielder, he is still in the lower levels of the minors, but he could have more of a future in the organization than Stratton. The Braves also sent cash to get this deal done.
