WHITE SOX GET WILL ROBERTSON
The Chicago White Sox acquired outfielder Will Robertson from the Toronto Blue Jays for cash.
What does it give the Chicago White Sox
The White Sox will take a chance on Robertson, whom the Blue Jays designated for assignment shortly after his MLB debut. The 27-year-old outfielder hit for some power and got on base in the minors, but he struggled in his first MLB call up, going 1-for-15 with 11 strikeouts. Robertson could now get a longer look in Chicago. He will need to turn it around quickly though.
What does it give the Toronto Blue Jays
A 2019 draft pick of the Blue Jays, Robertson finally got his first big-league call up this season. It didn't go well, so they ended up designating him for assignment. Toronto will lose some depth in the minors but got cash in return from the White Sox.
Fantasy impact
Robertson did not fare well in his first look at MLB pitching, and it seems unlikely he would earn a large role with the White Sox. He can be ignored in fantasy leagues.
