ASTROS ADD 3B RAMON URIAS

The Houston Astros acquired infielder Ramon Urias from the Baltimore Orioles for pitcher Twine Palmer.

What does it give the Houston Astros
The Astros have been in the market for a third baseman since the injury to Isaac Paredes, and it could be argued that they were in the market even earlier. Urias is a good glove at the hot corner but he is not a long-term solution. This move feels like a safety net for Houston, who might still make another move to add another third baseman.

What does it give the Baltimore Orioles
The Orioles have been (arguably) the most disappointing team in Major League Baseball in 2025. Expectations were much higher but instead they appear to be full-blown sellers at the trade deadline. Palmer is a 20-year-old right-hander with good numbers under his belt this season. Palmer is a long way from MLB but is a good addition for Urias here.

Fantasy impact
Urias could see more playing time in Houston, who play in a great home-run park. However, he might also see less playing time. It all depends on what the Astros do before the trade deadline. Therefore, no need to add Urias. Palmer could be on the keeper-league radar but he is several years away.
