LITTELL TO THE REDS IN 3-TEAM DEAL

In a three-team trade, the Cincinnati Reds acquired pitcher Zack Littell from the Tampa Bay Rays; the Los Angeles Dodgers acquired pitcher Paul Gervase and catcher Ben Rortvedt from the Rays, and pitcher Adam Serwinowski from the Reds; and Tampa Bay acquired catcher/first baseman Hunter Feduccia from the Dodgers, and pitcher Brian Van Belle from the Reds.

What does it give the Cincinnati Reds
The Reds get the only established MLB player in this trade. Littell provides them with much-needed starting pitching depth as they push for a playoff spot. The durable right-hander can cover innings and had a strong 3.58 ERA in 22 starts this year.

What does it give the Los Angeles Dodgers
The Dodgers add some intriguing younger pitchers here. Gervase is a right-handed reliever who has shown good promise in the Rays organization, while Serwinowski, a left-handed starter, is a decent prospect. Rortvedt will be catching depth in the minors, after Los Angeles sent Feduccia to Tampa Bay in this trade.

What does it give the
The Rays address their catching with this trade. Feduccia has been a decent hitting catcher in the minors, but he was always blocked by Will Smith with the Dodgers. Now 28, he could get his first extended look in a catching tandem with Nick Fortes. Tampa Bay also added Van Belle in this deal. He should provide pitching depth in the minors, mainly.

Fantasy impact
This trade will not change a lot in fantasy baseball. Littell might lose a little value playing home games in hitter-friendly Cincinnati. Wait and see on Feduccia with the Rays. He likely will not do enough to be a notable fantasy catcher.
