WILLI CASTRO TO THE CUBS
The Chicago Cubs acquired outfielder/infielder Willi Castro from the Minnesota Twins for pitchers Sam Armstrong and Ryan Gallagher.
What does it give the Chicago Cubs
Castro can play several positions, so he is likely to be used as a utility man with the Cubs down the stretch. His switch-hitting ability and versatility should prove to be invaluable for Chicago.
What does it give the Minnesota Twins
The Twins were using Castro virtually every day this season, so his presence in the lineup will be missed. Armstrong is a middling prospect at age 24; Gallagher is younger and better.
Fantasy impact
It could be time to cut bait with Castro, who is unlikely to see as many at-bats with his new team that he received with the Twins this season. Neither Armstrong nor Gallagher should be on the keeper radar, for now.
