SPRINGER SENT TO HOUSTON

The Houston Rockets acquired guard Jaden Springer, a second-round draft pick in 2027 and a second-round draft pick in 2030 from the Boston Celtics for a second-round draft pick in 2031.

What does it give the Houston Rockets
Springer could help Houston more than Boston, as the Rockets are not as deep as the Celtics. Springer has had difficulty getting into an NBA rotation, but Houston may be his best (last?) shot.

What does it give the Boston Celtics
The Celtics do not need Springer in order to win another NBA championship, so they moved him to Houston in what amounts to a swap of second-rounders. Reportedly, two of the picks exchanged are heavily protected.
