PACERS JETTISON JAMES WISEMAN TO TORONTO

The Toronto Raptors acquired center James Wiseman and cash considerations from the Indiana Pacers for future draft considerations.

What does it give the Toronto Raptors
The Raptors are taking a chance on the oft-injured Wiseman, a center with much unfilled promise. Still only 23 years old, Wiseman has a chance to get his career back on track with Toronto. First, he needs to bounce back from Achilles surgery. He will likely make his Toronto debut some time in 2025-26.

What does it give the Indiana Pacers
The Pacers no longer needed to wait for Wiseman, after acquiring Thomas Bryant to serve as Myles Turner's backup center. The team also has another injured center in Isaiah Jackson, so they paid part of Wiseman's contract to move him out. Indiana may get a draft pick down the road in this deal.

Fantasy impact
Wiseman is a talented center, so he might be worth picking up in keeper leagues. Otherwise, he is not worth hanging onto.
