WiZARDS AND THUNDER MAKE A TRADE
The Washington Wizards acquired forward Dillon Jones and a second-round draft pick in 2029 from the Oklahoma City Thunder for guard Colby Jones.
What does it give the Washington Wizards
Dillon Jones was an original Wizards draft pick last year, and his rights traveled around several teams before landing in Oklahoma City. He is a serviceable swingman with some upside, so he is a good pickup for Washington at this time.
What does it give the Oklahoma City Thunder
The NBA champions have too many players under contract, so this move was designed to clear some of that excess. Colby Jones is expected to be waived as part of this deal. OKC can afford to spend a draft pick to remove someone off the roster.
Fantasy impact
There is no fantasy impact here, as Dillon Jones is probably still a season or two away from becoming a fantasy factor–if he ever does.
