POWELL, COLLINS MOVED IN 3-TEAM TRADE
In a three-team trade, the Los Angeles Clippers acquired forward/center John Collins from the Utah Jazz; the Miami Heat acquired guard/forward Norman Powell from the Clippers; and Utah acquired forward Kyle Anderson and forward/center Kevin Love from the Heat, and a second-round draft pick in 2027 from the Clippers.
What does it give the Los Angeles Clippers
Collins is a nice addition to the Clippers, who now boast veteran centers Brook Lopez and Ivica Zubac next to Collins. Kawhi Leonard rounds out what looks to be an impressive frontcourt with the Clippers going into 2025-26.
What does it give the Miami Heat
In Powell, the Heat received a solid contributor who can come off the bench (or start) at either shooting guard or small forward. He essentially replaces Duncan Robinson (sign and trade) on the Heat roster.
What does it give the Utah Jazz
The Jazz moved on from Collins by getting two veteran frontcourt players in Anderson and Love. However, the key to this deal for Utah is the second-rounder in 2027. It is a surprise that Collins did not have great trade value.
Fantasy impact
Collins has a chance to have better value with the Clippers, although there is a lot of depth in Los Angeles. Powell could become a very good bench option in Miami, so he might be the biggest winner in this deal. Neither Anderson nor Love have any fantasy value at this point.
