Winfield agreed to a restructured contract Wednesday, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.
Winfield (knee) provided 60 tackles (34 solo), including 2.0 sacks, three passes defensed and a fumble recovery he returned for a touchdown across nine regular-season games in 2024.
The son of the three-time Pro Bowl corner of the same name is making his father proud. He is short for a safety but rather compact, and can both track tight ends and support the run. Perhaps owing to his family ties, he is instinctive and quick to see plays unfold. He has a nose for the football and can make an impact as a blitzer. Though he makes a lot of tackles, he has to become better at wrapping up.
