Swift said Tuesday at mandatory minicamp that he's "being very critical about how I played last year" and is "excited about this year" under new head coach Ben Johnson, Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun Times reports.
Swift is unlikely to be released this offseason, but the Bears may prioritize adding another running back, according to ESPN's Dan Graziano.
He embodies the total package with all of the desired traits of an every down running back (with the exception of elite size). Possesses inside-outside vision, speed and agility; he is instinctive and immediate at the line of scrimmage. Freezes second-level defenders in space with sudden lateral cuts, then takes their lunch. Is also an above-average receiver with soft hands and is quite reliable in pass protection. Is not a "ground and pound" finisher. Also lacks separation speed and must pass also pass the durability test in the NFL.
Long Range Potential: Talented, all-around star running back with big upside.
