His knack for interceptions was uncanny, thanks to superb anticipation and ball skills. He had pretty good size for an NFL defensive back, which helped him jam opponents at the line and disrupt them throughout routes. He also had enough speed to stay with most receivers down the field, as well as very good quickness. Sometimes, he got a little too caught up in trying to jump routes going for interceptions, and he got burned. Also, his aggressive approach resulted in unnecessary penalties. A late bloomer, he took some time before becoming a regular starter but wound up with a lengthy NFL career.
