THUNEY TRADED TO THE BEARS
The Chicago Bears acquired offensive lineman Joe Thuney from the Kansas City Chiefs for a fourth-round draft pick in 2026.
What does it give the Chicago Bears
In Thuney, the Bears land a top-tier offensive lineman who is likely to play left guard in Chicago (after spending time late last season at left tackle in Kansas City). Thuney is a tremendous upgrade for a Bears offensive line that looks revamped.
What does it give the Kansas City Chiefs
After a stellar stretch at left guard, the Chiefs moved Thuney outside to left tackle late in 2025. He did not look out of place, so it is somewhat surprising that they decided to trade him at this time. That said, this is likely a salary cap decision.
