GARDNER-JOHNSON GOES TO HOUSTON
The Houston Texans acquired safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson and a sixth-round draft pick in 2026 from the Philadelphia Eagles for offensive guard Kenyon Green and a fifth-round draft pick in 2026.
What does it give the Houston Texans
The Texans have been busy dumping offensive linemen during this off-season, so Green is the latest to be shown the door. Gardner-Johnson is a nice addition to their secondary, though. Look for him to start at free safety ahead of Jimmie Ward.
What does it give the Philadelphia Eagles
The Super Bowl champions surprised some by trading away Gardner-Johnson, but Green is an intriguing addition to the Eagles' offensive line. He is a candidate to start at right guard in 2025, especially since Mekhi Becton is a free agent.
Fantasy impact
Gardner-Johnson could be a decent option in deep individual player leagues, although his fantasy stock goes down a little bit after moving from Philadelphia to Houston.
