HUFF HEADS WEST TO THE 49ERS
The San Francisco 49ers acquired defensive end/linebacker Bryce Huff from the Philadelphia Eagles for a conditional fifth-round draft pick in 2026.
What does it give the San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers, specifically returning defensive coordinator Robert Saleh, are familiar with Huff (both Saleh and Huff were together with the New York Jets). Therefore, Huff should fit the 49ers' scheme well. He will now try to prove he can return to form under his former coach.
What does it give the Philadelphia Eagles
Huff was a rare miss by Eagles GM Howie Roseman. Huff never looked comfortable in Philadelphia's defensive system and was a complete non-factor as an Eagle. So, Roseman decided to cut bait and will receive a mid-round pick in next year's draft in return.
Fantasy impact
There is no fantasy impact here, as Huff will likely be a situational pass rusher for the 49ers. There are no guarantees that he can rediscover the form that made him a great sack artist with the Jets.
