HAULA HEADED TO NASHVILLE

The Nashville Predators acquired forward Erik Haula from the New Jersey Devils for defenseman Jeremy Hanzel and a fourth-round draft pick in 2025 (No. 99 overall).

What does it give the Nashville Predators
Now 34, Haula returns to Nashville after spending the 2020-21 campaign with the Predators. He can play center or wing, kill penalties and play up or down the lineup. His skating ability keeps him in the NHL.

What does it give the New Jersey Devils
Hanzel spent 2024-25 with the ECHL's Atlanta Gladiators for the most part. He is not an NHL prospect, so the fourth-round draft pick in 2025 is the main piece heading to New Jersey. The Devils wanted to get rid of Haula's contract, mainly.

Fantasy impact
At one time, Haula had fantasy value. However, those days are likely gone. He will be used as a role player in Nashville, so there is no need to draft him this year. Hanzel is not an NHL prospect, so he has no value.
