The Washington Capitals acquired defenseman Declan Chisholm and a sixth-round draft pick in 2025 (No. 180 overall) from the Minnesota Wild for defenseman Chase Priskie and a fourth-round draft pick in 2025 (No. 123 overall).
What does it give the Washington Capitals
In Chisholm, the Capitals add more defensive depth. He is insurance in case Martin Fehervary cannot start 2025-26 due to injury. Otherwise, he may end up in the AHL this season.
What does it give the Minnesota Wild
Priskie is more of an AHL defenseman than Chisholm is, but he is a right-shooting rearguard who can provide some offense in a pinch. Expect him to spend 2025-26 in Iowa.
