Williams (3-8) took the loss Saturday as the Nationals were downed 4-3 by the Marlins, giving up two runs on six hits and a walk over 5.1 innings. He struck out three.
Williams (3-7) took the loss Sunday against the Rangers, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits over 4.1 innings. He struck out two.
Owns a very good (6'3", 235 pounds) frame and excellent two-seam fastball that produces plenty of groundball outs when on his game. Can be used as either a starter or reliever in the minors. Needs to improve both his curve and slider to enhance his pitching repertore (to go along with his two different fastballs and quality changeup). Otherwise, he will have to stick as a reliever.
Long Range Potential: Inconsistent, versatile right-hander.
