The Athletics are expected to add Brown to the major-league roster Friday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
Scouting Report
Offers tremendous home-run power and run-producing qualities, especially in the minor leagues. Built like a classic, left-handed first baseman (6-3, 220 pounds), he can also play an outfield corner, which adds to his overall value to MLB clubs. Strikes out a ton, and he does not match it with nearly enough free passes (even at lower levels).
Long Range Potential: Versatile left-handed slugger with a little upside.
