Cowart signed a contract with the Jets on Thursday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Scouting Report
Has good size for an interior defensive lineman. There is nothing flashy about his game, but he is solid in all facets of the defensive side of the ball: he reads plays well, has the strength to disrupt running plays and can also rush the passer. As a fifth-round draft pick out of the University of Maryland, he quickly adapted to life in the NFL and can be considered somewhat of an overachiever.
Long Range Potential: Solid, all-around defensive tackle.
