The Patriots agreed Monday to trade Godchaux to the Saints in exchange for a 2026 seventh-round pick, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
The Bayou-bred behemoth ranks among the better interior run stoppers in the league; he is consistent and productive. Leverages his mass and quickness to close the inside running lanes and force ball carriers to re-route. Explosive off the snap, he stands up opponents with strong hands and arm extension to win close-quarter battles (including double teams). An early-down specialist, he lacks sophisticated pass-rush moves and rarely penetrates the backfield or generates negative yards.
Long Range Potential: Excellent, run-stuffing nose tackle.
