Okereke (back) has been participating in Giants' OTAs this week, John Schmeelk of the team's official website reports.
Okereke (back) was given a recovery timeline of 4-6 weeks after sustaining a herniated disc, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
Has very good speed for a linebacker, so he can stay with tight ends in coverage with aplomb. Can even cover a few slow-footed slot receivers at the NFL level. Is also a sure-handed tackler who reads plays well. Lacks a bit of bulk, so O-linemen can knock him off the line of scrimmage on occasion. Can make plays but is not a huge threat to get to the quarterback.
Long Range Potential: Quality linebacker.
