Murphy and the Vikings agreed Tuesday to restructure his contract, pushing the void date of it back to the day before the start of the new league year, Dan Graziano of ESPN.com reports.
Murphy recorded 10 total tackles (seven solo) and one pass defended in Sunday's 27-24 win over the Seahawks.
Something of an overachiever, he punches well above his modest weight and average size with superb technique, well-honed instincts and supreme confidence. Is an elite tracker of the football who seizes opportunities for turnovers. Uses his natural quickness and economical style to his advantage in man and zone coverage schemes. Delivers a startling payload; he wraps up well and competes hard against the run. Must do a better job of maintaining his strength through an entire season; his resilience will constantly be tested by bigger receivers in the NFL.
