The Chiefs signed Zappe to a one-year contract Friday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Scouting Report
The stocky pocket passer put up huge numbers in a high-volume passing attack at the college football level. He is a confident thrower who will attack any defensive scheme and does not get rattled. But his quickness and arm strength will have to improve in order to make an impact at the NFL level. He is not a terrific physical specimen, does not throw well when moving his feet and still has to get used to playing under center.
Long Range Potential: Solid depth quarterback with some upside.
