The Texans are placing Pierce (undisclosed) on the Physically Unable to Perform list for the start of training camp, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Pierce had four carries for 10 yards and failed to hold his lone target in Saturday's 23-14 divisional-round loss to Kansas City.
The short but strong running back has a nose for the end zone, despite not being particularly quick nor possessing breakaway speed. He has good vision, the leg drive to break tackles and the power to create extra yards. His light usage in college football means he has a lot of tread left on his tires. He owns decent hands and adequate pass-blocking technique.
Long Range Potential: Talented workhorse running back.
