Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh said Tuesday that Lance will start Thursday's preseason opener against the Lions in the Hall of Fame Game, Kris Rhim of ESPN.com reports.
Lance and the Chargers reached agreement on a one-year deal Friday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
A one-year starter at FCS powerhouse North Dakota State turned into the No. 3 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft and has all the tools to be an upper-level NFL quarterback. He is supremely mobile with a good enough arm that should get better as he matures. He also displays a solid football IQ despite his lack of experience. He has to resist the temptation to be a hero when he is running and learn to slide well enough to minimize collisions that can result in injuries.
