Wedgewood stopped all eight shots he faced in the third period Monday after replacing Mackenzie Blackwood during the Avalanche's 6-2 loss to the Stars in Game 5 of their first-round series.
Wedgewood is expected to draw the home start Tuesday versus the Golden Knights, per Evan Rawal of the Denver Gazette.
Is a big, flexible goaltender with good reflexes who can cover a lot of net even in his butterfly. He has a pretty good glove hand and tracks the puck adequately. Has had success in the American Hockey League and is capable of shutting down top-level opponents on any given night, but has yet to show the kind of consistency needed to earn regular work at the NHL level.
Long Range Potential: Journeyman goaltender.
