The Diamondbacks placed Vargas on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a fractured fifth metatarsal in his right foot.

Vargas (foot) left the stadium Tuesday in a walking boot and will be placed on the 10-day injured list, MLB.com reports.
Scouting Report
Is a solid infielder who can play shortstop at a fairly high level, as well as third and second base. Can hit for average in the minor leagues, plus he owns a good batting eye and some base-stealing speed. Lacks size (6-0, 170 pounds) and is not a huge home-run threat at any level, so he profiles more as a utility infielder in Major League Baseball.
